The Steelers host the Bears on Monday Night Football in Week 9, and though the matchup features a pair of brand names, we’re going to be scratching and clawing for fantasy points in this one. There’s chatter that David Montgomery (knee) will return from IR this week, throwing a wrench into the process of choosing a running back from the Bears’ backfield. Further influencing our DFS decisions for this FanDuel single-game contest, Las Vegas opened the total at 40 points with the Steelers favored by 6.5.
In case you need a reminder, here are the key scoring settings for FanDuel’s single-game contests: The point total for the “MVP” is multiplied by 1.5, but he doesn’t cost any additional money like the “Captain” in DraftKings Showdown contests. FanDuel’s default scoring is half-point PPR and four-point passing TDs, and there are no bonuses for 300-yard/100-yard games like on DraftKings.

FanDuel Single Game DFS Picks: Bears vs. Steelers
$60,000 budget, need at least one player from each team
MVP (1.5x points): RB Najee Harris, Steelers ($16,500)
Harris’ 48.8-percent touch share far outpaces anyone that will be on the field on Monday, so naming him our MVP is maybe the easiest decision of the week. He’s surpassed 21.0 FanDuel points on three occasions and hasn’t scored below 16.6 FD points since Week 2. He’s a solid bet to post another big score this week.
FLEX: WR Diontae Johnson, Steelers ($13,500)
Johnson leads the team in targets, receptions, and is second behind Harris with three touchdowns. Johnson has earned 13 targets in each of the two games since JuJu Smith-Schuster suffered a season-ending shoulder injury and has been consistent all season, scoring at least 12.1 FD points in each of his six games.
MORE MNF: DK lineup | Montgomery update | Roethlisberger update
FLEX: WR Chase Claypool, Steelers ($11,500)
We’re still waiting for Claypool to take advantage of what should be a larger role, as he totaled just 10.8 FD points in Smith-Schuster’s absence. He’s demonstrated over his brief career that’s he’s capable of much more, though. Consistency hasn’t been Claypool’s strong suit this season, but he can win in a lot of ways — volume, deep shots, red zone, designed runs, etc. We’re just asking for him to convert on one or two of the high-value opportunities he’ll receive.
FLEX: WR Darnell Mooney, Bears ($10,500)
Choices are slim when it comes to attractive lineup options from the Bears. Mooney leads the team in targets, catching 33 at 12.4 yards per grab. He’s scored double-digit FanDuel points two times this season, and while that might not encourage much confidence, he’s the best bet to make the type of big play or two that can benefit a fantasy lineup.
FLEX: TE Pat Freiermuth, Steelers ($8,000)
Freiermuth has picked up his game in recent weeks, not only shouldering some of the slack left over from Smith-Schuster, but also playing a larger role with Eric Ebron (hamstring) sidelined in recent weeks. Ebron has been ruled out for Monday night, as well, giving Freiermuth a great opportunity to receive another seven targets and double-digit FanDuel points.
